Final Fantasy XIII Exclusive

It’s November 13th a perfect day for Square Enix to share some news with us about the upcoming game Final Fantasy XIII !
Through a video (see below) on the official PlayStation websites (!) and official FF XIII website Square Enix not only shared some views of the staff with us, but also the release date for the U.S. and Europe. Final Fantasy XIII will be released on March 9th, 2010 ! Lucky gamers in Japan will be able to play the game this year with a release on December 17th, 2009.
Even though I’m anticipating the release of the somewhat darker Final Fantasy XIII Versus it’s always nice to get excited about the release of a new Final Fantasy installment. If you want to see more footage, be sure to check out the official Japanese trailer below – YES it comes with English subtitles! As a former student Japanese language & culture I will always prefer the original Japanese version so … If you’re more comfortable with the English dub, you can check it out here on GameTrailers.
I’m actually very curious on how the story of Final Fantasy XIII will unfold. Especially how the concept of l’Cie raises some interesting questions related to outworld (in real life) issues too e.g. do we view some people less human? Think of the people in Africa who are suffering from hunger. Even though we see it on TV in the news… in a way people have also become insensitive to it on a certain level.

Ooh, I’m really looking forward to the release of this game as I’m a huge Final Fantasy fan myself. I think I heard someone say that this version would be available on the Xbox 360 as well, have you heard about that?? Also, it’s pretty good to have a female as the main character lol :P. I haven’t really read a whole lot about it, but I’ll look into it more when it’s closer to the release date; that way I don’t get antsy at not having it hehe. Are you going to be getting the game?

I’m definitely looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII as well :D I’m REALLY looking forward to FF XIII Versus, I think I prefer it over FF XIII. I like Lightning is a female lead in FF XIII, it’s nice how one of the staff comments Lightning is one of the strongest female characters in the whole Final Fantasy franchise.
Yup FF XIII will also be available for Xbox 360. At first I was a little shocked, but I’m trying not to be a console fangirl and root only for PlayStation *le sigh* In a way it’s good since there will be more people able to enjoy the game. But I also understood that Final Fantasy XIII will be released exclusively for PlayStation 3 in Japan and will appear also appear on Xbox 360 OUTSIDE of Japan.
