Even though it’s still Winter Weather here in The Netherlands, the focus in fashion is already on coming Spring and early summer. I too was tempted to invest in new clothes for Spring 2010.
I’ve never been a person who buys a whole lotta clothes. I usually only buy stuff when I really need it. I noticed my wardrobe really needs upgrading since many key pieces are just worn out. I decided to refresh my wardrobe starting with Spring 2010 and placed an early order through H&M. My focus for this year will be more feminine and mature clothes. I also want to invest in more accessories. Oh and I really need to take out my high heels out of their storage place!
After seeing it in the catalog I totally fell in love the dress (above) in taupe. It’s also available in powder beige, but I usually feel pale when wearing such a color even though I like it. I love the cut of the dress and it being taupe makes it possible to draw the focus to accessories with a splash of color. I guess that’s why I love this colorful scarf (below). Even though it has my ‘safety color’ brown in it, overall it’s just a cute scarf with a warm feeling to it.

The next piece was actually a favorite of my older sister who wanted to buy it in a different color. I decided to order the jumpsuit in black. What I like about this piece is that you can wear it and create an ‘ethnic’ look or go for a ‘modern’ & ‘edgy’ look … depending on the accessories & shoes you combine it with!

Talking about ethnic, I also decided to get my hands on this dress with cherry blossom inspired print. Hmm maybe I can find some cute shoes or real wooden sandals to do a spin off on the traditional look *ponders*

The other two pieces I got are actually multi functional. You can dress them down for class/work or dress them up for a fancy drink at the bar. Even though the left piece is a dress, it’s short enough to be combined with a pair of trousers.

So that was my Fashion Fix early order pieces for January. All items were purchased by me through www.hm.com ‘s online store.
