Crunch

I love to take a good look around the supermarket when doing grocery shopping. Last week I noticed a special pay 1 get 2 offer for Kettle Chips. I decided to try it out!
I usually stay away from snacks such as chips, but this time I wanted to give an unfamiliar brand a try. The brands we usually have in the house are Lays and ‘Croky’ which is a Belgium brand and I think only available in the BeNeLux. So I got my hands on two flavours from Kettle Chips : the one with ‘sea salt’ and a bag of ‘sea salt & crushed black pepper’.

I must say that I really like the Kettle Chips flavours I tried. Not only the taste, but also the crunchy bite. Compared to the brands I’m used to (mainly Lays) it’s a bit ‘heavier’, but it’s not gross in any way. At the moment my favorite is the one with crushed black pepper. I also like the packaging which is nice & simple and not ‘screamy’ at all. Even though the brand is a bit on the expensive side (around € 2 for 150 grams), I think it could be a good choice for parties e.g. a somewhat less formal drinking party with more finger food. Hahaha, in The Netherlands we call it ‘borrelen’.

I really like kettle-cooked chips in comparison to non-kettle cooked ones, as I like how there’s more crunch and a heavier… sense? to the chip. Not sure if it’s healthier/less healthier, but it’s tastier! :D

I always had the idea that kettle crisps are healthier, but I am not sure. I agree with Manda that they are tastier though. My favourite flavour will always be lightly salted (and all the weird Japanese crisp flavours), but the ones you mentioned sound great. I would like to try them. :D

Hehehe ‘weird Japanese crips flavours’ … I love how Japanese snacks sometimes have totally different flavours we are used to in The West ~

Kettle Chips are quite fantastic! Old-fashioned too! I tend to go for the bbq but I heard good things when these 2 flavors came out too!

BBQ? Do you mean the Honey Barbecue or Backyard Barbeque? :( I guess Kettle Chips are geared towards different flavors here in Europe *sighs* I will definitely try out more flavours when they are available in the supermarket :D
