The Bodyshop : Raspberry Body Butter

One of my favorite products at this moment is the Raspberry Body Butter from The Bodyshop. I usually use Dove’s Sunshine Body Lotion to keep my tan up even in winter, but after receiving this body butter from my mom I decided to give it a try. Even though I’m a big supporter of The Bodyshop Philosophy I hardly buy products there mainly because it doesn’t seem to benefit my skin.
The Basics
Because I have dry skin I love rich & creamy body lotions to hydrate my skin. I’m happy to say the Raspberry Body Butter has a very nice creamy texture which I truly love. Even though it has that creamy butter texture I didn’t have any trouble applying it. Since it is tagged for ‘normal skin’ it didn’t fully hydrate my skin as much as I wanted it to. But that was to be expected since I have a dry skin type. The Raspberry Body Butter definitely has a very sweet scent. It’s not really ‘chemical’ or anything, but it might be a bit too much for people who do not like fruity scents.
How I use the product
I love to use the Raspberry Body Butter after taking a shower in the morning or even after a late night shower. Since you touch the product in the packaging with your fingers it might be a bit more hygienic to use a spatula to get just the right amount of butter. It’s adviced to store it in a cool place. Don’t forget, make-up & other beauty products can go bad!
Verdict
I really like using the Raspberry Body Butter from The Bodyshop. Even though it might not offer me full hydration I think it would be a good fit for people with ‘normal’ skin. The sweet scent really puts me in a Spring / Summer mood. I thought it was a bit funny to be able to get this product for FREE during the Christmas Holiday since it’s so fruity & summery – oh well. If you’re looking for a nice body butter, this one is definitely worth trying out!

I’ve actually heard great reviews about The Body Shop’s body butters, but I’ve never tried them out since I’m not a fan of the “natural fruit” smell. Maybe when they come out with a different scent, I’ll go pick one up and try.
