Since I was born in 1984 I seem to carry a serious weak spot for music from the 80s (and 90s). I believe the 80s have been a very important decade for pop music and many elements that were introduced during the 80s are still influencing pop music today. In today’s #MusicMonday post I would like to share one of my fav 80s songs called Voyage Voyage originally sung by Desireless and the cover by Kate Ryan which I actually like a lot too.

The original videoclip of ‘Voyage Voyage’ released by French singer Claudie Fritsch-Mentrop or better known as Desireless back in 1986/87. Even though the song is in French it became a #1 track in various countries.
Kate Ryan

I usually don’t like covers, but I believe Flemish singer (of Dutch origin) Kate Ryan has done a pretty good job when she released her cover version in 2007. Making the synth pop version a bit more of a dance track.
I’m not sure which version I think is better. I think it depends on the mood. I love Kate Ryan’s version because it’s more upbeat, but she couldn’t do much wrong with Desireless’ powerful original. I will just keep playing both versions ~
