I don’t always listen to electronic dance music or Japanese Pop Music :P One of the bands I’ve been a fan of for some time now is KEANE, an alternative rock band from England formed in 1997. I’ve seen them perform twice in AHOY, Rotterdam – The Netherlands which was pretty cool! So in today’s #MusicMonday post I just had to share one of my fav tracks.
Spiralling
I was first attracted to KEANE right after the release of their debut album ‘Hopes & Fears’ (2004). I really liked the fact KEANE is a piano rock band and it really came through on this first album. When I was younger I played the piano a lot. I have a soft spot for music that involves keys. I really love how the sound of KEANE has developed over the years. The lyrics to their songs have always been pretty strong too. Hmmm come to think of it, I should load some of their tracks back onto my iPhone ♥
Because I love Travis, I had tried to deny the talent of similar bands like Coldplay and Keane, even though I secretly love “Somewhere Only We Know” a lot. However, Keane managed to make me change my mind with “Spiralling”. I love how they experiment with different styles.
Ohh I never heard any material of Travis, I might need to check that out! But yeah Keane is definitely growing and experimenting with music… it’s not just that (painfully) sweet sound of “Somewhere Only We Know” anymore :D *phew*
