During the 2011 Spike Videogame Awards Naughty Dog released a very exciting announcement trailer of their latest project: The Last of Us !
The game is an exclusive title for the PlayStation 3. According to the creators ‘The Last of Us’ is a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Abandoned cities are being reclaimed by nature and the remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
The trailer kinda reminded me of ‘I Am Legend’ (2007), which I enjoyed very much. I’m actually a fan of post apocalyptic settings & storylines! Even though the setting of ‘The Last of Us’ is very familiar, I’m really curious how Naughty Dog will tell the story and let us play the game.
