When I was younger I enjoyed wearing watches mostly for practical reasons. But, when I started to carry a mobile phone the watch disappeared from my wrist. In 2005 I madly fell in love with the original Full Blooded model by Swatch. I was really attracted to the design and for the first time in my life I felt a want rather than my usual practical need while looking at a watch. Since it was still quite expensive for a starting university student, I never bought it. Two years later a friend bought the watch for me. Four years went by and even though the friend moved on, the watch still stayed on my wrist. Until one day when the glass got scratched during a casual shopping trip. I was so sad, I stopped wearing it :(
For a full year I didn’t wear a watch. Slowly but surely I started to look into buying a new one. Last week I finally decided to go the Swatch store in Amsterdam with the intention to go & buy a new one :D I took my old watch with me in the hopes they could somehow repair the scratch. Fortunately the staff at the Swatch store were able to polish the glass and remove a big part of the scratch. They also helped me pick up a new Full Blooded model: a Smokey Brown version!
I believe my original Full Blooded watch is a little more feminine & classic, while my new one is more casual male and sportive. It’s a great combination! It seems my old watch has found company. With the scratch removed I’m happy I can use my original watch next to my new one. Unfortunately the photo’s of the official Swatch website don’t really give a good idea of the colours. Both watches have a matte finish giving them a very subtle stylish look. I’m really happy Swatch has been releasing new colours of my favorite watch. I already have plans to purchase another version next year!
