I’m always a little hesitant about jumping into a series. Especially when the series is about to release a third installment! It’s the main reason why I did not list the title in my Tech Girl Wishlist 2012 blogpost. After reading more about the series and realizing it is a BioWare title, I caved. I need my BioWare fix and let’s be honest: Mass Effect 3 just looks amazing!
To get ready for Mass Effect 3 I decided to purchase Mass Effect 2 and really get pumped for the sequel. I picked up Mass Effect 2 for PlayStation 3 which comes with almost all the DLC packs and an interactive comic. The interactive comic gives you a summary of the events that took place during the original game and even offers you the option to make certain choices that effect your adventure during Mass Effect 2. I’m sure Mass Effect 3 will have a similar option for first time players, but I thought playing the full Mass Effect 2 game is much more immersive.
Mass Effect 3 won the award for Most Anticipated Game during the Spike Videogame Awards (?) last year and I can definitely understand why. I’m really looking forward to this grand finale of Shepard’s epic adventure! The game is set for a release on March 6th, 2012. My fellow Dutchies and I have to wait till March 9th for the game to hit our shores. And yes, I will do an unboxing and review for the game – stay tuned!
